Atkinson Awarded Mc4West Storm Water Tunnel Project
Chicago, Illinois - The underground division of Atkinson Construction has been awarded a design/build contract in the amount of $13,886,000 to construct a drainage conveyance system to accommodate the rain runoff from the new McCormick West Convention Center being constructed in Chicago by Mc4West Constructors, a joint venture led by Clark Construction.
Work includes the design and construction of a 7'diameter inlet shaft, a 22' diameter outlet shaft, an outlet structure and approx. 3,500lf of 12.5' diameter mined tunnel connecting the inlet shaft to the outlet shaft. The project is currently in the construction phase continuing until July, 2006.
