Mark Padien Promoted to Vice President

Irvine, Calif. - Atkinson is pleased to announce that Mark Padien has been promoted to Vice President.

Mark joined Atkinson in 2006 as a project engineer on the I-10 Freeway Widening project in Redlands, CA. He was promoted to project manager in 2008 and, in that role, lead the Sunset Avenue Grade Separation project in the City of Industry, CA.

In 2011, Mark relocated to Northern California to manage the acquisition of a local company and to pursue new work in the Bay Area. The following year, he led the successful pursuit of the A-Line Aerial Structures Retrofit project for Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART). As senior project manager, Mark led the successful delivery of the $190 million two-segment West County Connector project in Orange County, CA. Most recently, Mark worked closely with our team in San Francisco, lending his expertise and leadership to the foundations portion of a high-rise office tower project. He also is assisting Clark Civil during the early stages of the BART Hayward Maintenance Complex project in Hayward, CA.

Prior to joining Atkinson, Mark served five years in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Captain. He completed two combat tours, first as an infantry Platoon Leader and second as a Company Commander. He graduated from the Army's Airborne, Air Assault, and Ranger courses. Mark has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Rhode Island and a master's in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
