Atkinson Power Awarded Jicarilla Apache Nation 115 kV Transmission Line, Substation, and Switchyard Preconstruction EPC Services

DULCE, N.M. – Following the successful execution of the preconstruction services agreement, the Jicarilla Apache Nation (JAN) awarded Atkinson Power a contract for the final design, procurement, and construction of 60 miles of 115 kV Transmission Line with a 115/24.9/7.2 kV Substation, and 345/115 kV Switchyard in north central New Mexico.

The line construction will include direct-embed steel mono poles, and anchor bolt foundations for angle and dead-end poles. The steel mono poles will range from 70’ to 80’ above grade and spacing between poles will be 500’ to 600’. The 115kV single circuit structures will consist of three phases installed in a vertical configuration. Each 477 ACSR conductor will consist of outer aluminum strands with a stranded steel reinforced core.
