SR 210 Segments 9,10,11 in progress

This project completes the final six miles of SR 210, a depressed roadway in Southern California. Work includes the construction of nine new bridges and seismic retrofitting for one bridge, along with retaining walls, 126,600 cubic yards of PCC paving, electrical installations, and signage. The work scope also included the construction of a two-span bridge, erected over active BNSF railroad tracks, and roadway construction that took place beneath a UPRR railroad bridge.

Major work included:

• Three two-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed concrete box girder structures (Cactus Avenue, Lilac Ave. Pedestrian Bridge, Cajon Blvd)
• Two continuous four-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed concrete box girder structures (Highland Avenue, Lytle Creek Wash Bridges)
• Two single-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed concrete box girder structures (Pepper Avenue underpass)
• Muscoy Underpass retrofit
• Two single-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed concrete box girder structures (California Street and 27th Street Undercrossings)

Additionally, the site was located near Lytle Creek, a major flood control channel. To protect this environmentally sensitive area, the project team constructed a temporary bridge and drainage diversion to provide safe equipment access and maintain the proper flow capacity for flood control.
