Lime Creek Access Slopes

The Lime Creek Access Slopes project creates two tunnels, each extending 424 feet in length and featuring dimensions of 24 feet in height by 26 feet in width. These tunnels run at a slope of -17.63, facilitating access from the Lime Creek formation to an area where the existing mine could access previously untapped limestone reserves.

Crews drifted a 120-foot-long tunnel, measuring 24 feet in height and 26 feet in width. Atkinson installed two new ventilation fans and motors, each a capacity of 50,000 CFM and 54-inch-diameter ductwork to accommodate the new fans. Following the completion of the drifting work, Atkinson installed a 6-foot-wide conveyor system along the entire length of the slope.
