SR 3 Chico Creek

SR 3 Chico Creek Fish Barrier Removal includes the design and construction of two single-span, cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete bridges. They eliminate the need for culverts that obstructed the movement of fish within the Chico Creek watershed. Notably, one of the bridges spans over 200 feet. The primary design objective is to restore Chico Creek to a more natural state, facilitating unimpeded flow and eliminating piers in the water. Collaborative efforts involve the Suquamish Tribe, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to address environmental considerations associated with this project.
