Atkinson Wins the Route 60 Pavement Rehabilitation Project

Los Angeles, CA - Caltrans District 7 has awarded Atkinson a $106 million contract for the Route 60 Pavement Rehabilitation project. Atkinson will construct nine miles of pavement replacement along both the westbound and eastbound directions of Route 60. This stretch of freeway is considered a major truck corridor, and the project will provide a thickened pavement section for the outside two lanes. The work will be constructed over four stages and will include weekend closures in which the Atkinson team will replace the existing concrete pavement using rapid setting concrete. Work will also include constructing new storm water treatment structures along the corridor and replacing existing drainage, concrete barrier, and approach slabs. This is Atkinson’s fourth pavement rehabilitation project for Caltrans District 7. Atkinson will begin construction in September 2019 and has slated project completion for Summer 2021.
